Our Guardian Program

• A Loving Companion: You’ll welcome a healthy, well-bred dog into your home as a family pet.
• No Purchase Cost: Guardian dogs are provided at no upfront cost, though you are responsible for their care.
• Support from Us: We provide guidance, veterinary coordination for breeding-related needs, and ongoing support.
• A Forever Pet: After their breeding career, the dog is yours to love for life.

To ensure our dogs thrive and our breeding program succeeds, we have specific requirements for guardian families:

1. Location: You must live within a reasonable distance (typically 100 miles of Bowling Green, Ohio) for breeding-related visits and veterinary care.
2. Lifestyle: Guardians must provide a stable, loving, and active home environment. Our dogs thrive in homes with ample time for attention, exercise, and socialization.
3. Fenced Yard: A securely fenced yard is required to keep your dog safe during outdoor time.
4. Experience: Prior dog ownership or experience is preferred, as our dogs require responsible care and training.
5. Availability: You must be willing to make the dog available for breeding-related activities, such as health screenings, mating, and whelping (typically 1–3 times per year for females, less frequent for males). We coordinate all breeding logistics.
6. Care Commitment: Guardians are responsible for the dog’s daily care, including food, grooming, training, exercise, and routine veterinary expenses (e.g., vaccinations, flea/tick prevention). Breeding-related veterinary costs are covered by Windy Creek Doodles.
7. Contract Agreement: Guardians must sign a contract outlining responsibilities, including maintaining the dog’s health, weight, and training, and adhering to our breeding schedule.
8. No Other Intact Pets: To prevent unplanned litters, guardian homes may not have other unspayed/unneutered pets.
9. Communication: Open and timely communication with us is essential to coordinate breeding activities and ensure the dog’s well-being.

We carefully screen all guardian families to guarantee our dogs receive the best care, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

In our Guardian Program, we place select breeding-quality dogs with approved families who agree to care for them as their own. These dogs live with you full-time as cherished family pets, while we retain breeding rights for a limited period. Once the dog’s breeding career is complete, they are spayed or neutered and remain with you as your forever pet, with full ownership transferred to you.

This program allows our breeding dogs to live in loving, individual homes rather than a kennel environment, ensuring they receive the attention, care, and socialization they deserve. It’s a win-win: you gain a high-quality dog at no initial cost, and we can continue producing healthy, well-bred puppies.
